Hello, my name is Robert Baggett (www.simplyrbd.com) and I just wanted to share a bit about myself and this site. As far as me—well, I am a designer, creative director and business communications strategist. I know that sounds like a mouthful, but, that’s about how it all shakes out. Primarily my career has revolved around print design, but, I’ve managed to work in some cool environmental design projects i.e. a sushi restaurant, a sushi bar in a Thai restaurant and a cool coffee bar in an art gallery.
I have to say I feel pretty fortunate.
Now—on to thoughts about The Vibrant Table. The whole concept of this site is to share experiences, creative thoughts and stories about everything that makes a dinner table—a vibrant table. It all starts with fabulous fresh food, mood enhancing music, exceptional brews, wines and spirits and of course—good friends & family. The last of these ingredients has played a very important role in how and why I’ve come to love food and what it makes possible. My family—both sides—made such impact on me when it came to times around the table. So much so that I was just inspired to share…and share something that I truly have a love for.
Whether I was watching my Mama Hattie cook a heap of fresh veggies and cornbread for a Sunday lunch or maybe it was hanging by the grill to see Uncle John and my Dad turn the chickens on a crisp fall day. All of these things have just fueled my passion for food and what can come out of it—good times.
All this to say—know how important good-food is for your soul. It creates opportunities to deepen relationships (like the one with my lovely wife—Kristy) and start new ones. So remember—next time you sit for a meal—make it memorable.
